anywidget-mcp turns existing AnyWidgets into MCP Apps, reusing their Python logic and JavaScript interfaces inside AI conversations.
An MCP App, an interactive interface hosted inside an AI conversation, needs tool registration, a browser runtime, and state synchronization. I wanted to reuse the AnyWidgets I could already build and test in Jupyter or marimo. The adapter handles that integration and lets developers choose which widget values the model can read.
The demo uses two existing widgets from Wigglystuff. I choose #4400ff in ColorPicker, then the agent passes that selection to LiveEdit, an interactive debugger where I can explore the HEX-to-RGB algorithm and inspect its intermediate values for that exact color.
ColorPicker → the agent → LiveEdit: a selection in one AnyWidget becomes the input to another.
